Is anyone here close to Dalla or Fort Worth Texas?
« on: September 06, 2010, 09:49:03 AM »
If you or anyone you know has some open land near Dallas or Fort Worth Texas, a friend of mine could really use your help. Any details could be worked out with him directly, or through me if someone prefers that for some reason. His name is Tim Peters, he is a plant breeder, and well known and respected in his field. He works on many very interesting projects.... Im not exactly sure all of the projects he is currently working on, because it may of changed somewhat, now that he is in a different region then he was. He only recently moved to Texas. Which of course is why he has to find some land to work. I know he is still working on perennial eggplants and squash, and peppers, not positive what else he is currently planning.

this is the message he wants me to post.....

Quote
I have been a leading alternative plant breeder for many years. ...

I am in the Dallas - Fort Worth TX area ...I am looking for people who have bits and pieces of land they would be willing to let me use to develop/test my perennial grain or vegetable work on. ...I would like to find and improve self-sustaining crops adapted to the areas here.

They could contact me at atimberline@yahoo.com or at 1-678-949-1351

Thanks
Tim Peters

Atash if this is the forum you would like this posted to, let me know and I will move it, or you can freely.

It was OK where it was but this might be a little more specific.

Tim is looking for any amount of land really. Someones backyard, could help him, if its close enough...........

He recently moved to the dallas fort worth area, and doesnt have a place to do his breeding work. he is hoping to find a plot or 10 to work by next spring, for all his projects.... any details would have to be worked out with him. the quoted text, and him asking me to post it to any gardening forums I go to is all he wrote in that particular email.

I can't help because I'm in the wrong part of the country. Otherwise, I would let him have some space among nursery beds and test plots for various types of grain. We're very interested in grain these days.

Maybe we can help him in other ways. I'll have to give this some thought.

One thing you could do is to post the message to any other forums that are for gardeners, or like this one have gardeners on it..... I have posted it here, idig, and at homegrown goodness. So far only you responded to any of the posts, although perhaps someone used Tims contact info......

There is also Gardenweb.com.

SS, Tom and I got good response from an ad on Craigslist for very similar purposes. Lemme suggest that to Tim.
