Miners to be trapped for months - story worth following

It will be interesting to see what happens to these miners and how they cope. I think there will be lessons learned that we could all benefit from.

I guess being on boat in the middle of no where is not that bad after all  :laughing005: I got nothing on those guys, but I do hope and pray they get them out safely.

NASA should fund their rescue and then use the physcological data for a simulated mars journey.
Gotta learn how to knit socks and mittens if you want to survive in montana.

they did, NASA was one of the first agencies consulted for their long stay

They could just run a DSL line down that tube with some laptops. That would solve the problem for me.

I think they did, they got images of the guys playing dominoes, games all sorts of things I saw from this mornings news

I'd send down a bunch of DVDs as well. The first two titles I'd send down are "The Shining", and "The Thing" (John Carpenter's remake, not the original).

I know a guy who works at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. He tells me they have a library of movies down there and "The Thing" is a permanent part of the collection.
