Bulletproof Vest

If anyone is looking, this is a pretty good deal on a bulletproof vest. The company that puts them out looks pretty soild.

Do you really want to buy USED, when it is life-saving equipment that you cannot test beforehand without degrading it's protection?  A used gun or knife can be tested for functionality without damaging it's ability to work.  Not so with any sort of armor.  What is the cost savings and what is the value of your life?

Well it would be better then having nothing at all, and hope you never have to wear it.

I think that "used" in this context means that somebody wore it and the vest was never actually put to it's designed purpose.

I just got this vest in the mail today. It is in excellent condition. It looks brand new and never used. It fits well but  it is a bit heavy. Their is no doubt in my mind that this is excellent protection. Again this is something I hope I never half to put on, but I look at it as insurance.

Remember, a vest is not effective if you get shot in the head.  The legs aren't too good either.

Do you remember when I showed you to shoot into the thoracic area one fist width below the chin instead of shooting for the center of mass like the police train? Now you know why. Your training assumes the bad guy is wearing a vest and you will go in right above the top lip (= him horizontal, you vertical).

Good points Opsec and I do remember.

Hopefully if I come into a situation like that my enemy won't have that kind of training. But at least the vest covers most vitals parts in the thoracic area. I would still say if you can afford a bullet proof vest....get one, it could save your life.
