So once they stop extending unemployment benifits.  How long until people see the effects of the millions out of work?

I don't know. It seems to me that the ratio of people who have wised up to people who are still in denial has improved; a lot of people I talk to are now a lot more open to doing whatever it takes to remain employed, even if they are under-employed, not in their dream career, cutting their standard of living, or however else they have had to compromise their goals. But I still talk to a lot of people in deep denial too, even after losing their jobs.
