His solution was to use money to get out of dodge. What do you do if you either don't have money and there is nowhere to go? He didn't survive, he merely escaped.

I just accepted it without a thought.  Now I think better. 

Celente would have us believe that even before the aftershocks subsided, hoodlums looked to their friends and said, "Earthqauke!  Let's loot and rumble!!"

There have been reports of looting, but no within minutes of the earthquake.
