BH,
Here's a trick for you. Take a small piece of paper about the size of the end of your thumb and use a pin to put a small hole in the middle of it. Then paperclip the piece of paper over your glasses lens so that you are looking through the hole when you are lining up your sights.

Sure, I'll give that a try, sounds like a peep-sight, but the issue is that I can not focus on rear sight, front sight and target at the same time any longer. The RedDot allows me to focus on the target and not worry about the sight picture the way I used to like to do. My only real solution is more practice, more often.

A peep sight. That's the word for it. I think it will allow you to focus on all both sights and the target at the same time.

I can offer a +1 on the subsonic ammo, especially if you own a bolt action 22. I have a 10/22 Ruger and a Bolt Action Marlin 25. The Subsonic ammo, and the Colibri primer only ammo are amazingly quiet in the bolt action, but the Colibri will not feed well in the 10/22.

I had feed problems with the Colibri as well. The projectile is just too long.

And its a good idea to test each different manufactures ammo for accuracy and feed. So now that i think the sighting problem is resolved its time to take some from each on hand and test again. Did not notice any misfeeds with the 35 rds of Aquila in the 10/22 though the group size was the only thing on my mind that day. Will also test the Aquilla in the Ruger Mk-II with bull barrel. I just enjoy target practice with the small calibers about as much now as when I was twelve. And was told once that the Mk-II was designed as a training device for the 1911, so I like to start small and work up whenever going to the range, just wish that Lahti holster had worked like expected, haven't really found anything that works for me yet to carry the MK-II. For someone who is not familiar with short guns the Ruger MK-II is ideal training device. There were several at the last gun show too so they are readily available. Both Boston Tea and Rawles also think the MK-II a worthy tool, always nice when you can find an expert who says what you already have is good stuff.
