Homeworld is back

Some of you remember this. A few folks freaked out. (there are no naughty words aside from a few found in the Bible and used literally and not for shock value, a few discretely-worded risquee scenes involving nothing that the good Lord didn't intend between husbands and wives, yes there is paganism but of a godly sort, yes there is a brief reference to human sacrifice but no detailed descriptions and no advocacy of same, and there is little violence and none of it particularly horrifyng or graphic. Everything but I think one episode, on which I post a warning, is G-rated).

Some never saw it. Nobody except myself saw more than half the existing series. I had logistical problems publishing them, and there was also the problem that I learned how to write fiction insomuch as I do at all, after the fact.

They'll start showing up again, about one a week.

ooooooh my that was nice. I'll be watching for the next episode. This is better than Saturday afternoon at the movies with Buck Rogers and the double feature.

Thank you.

You're welcome. If I had any brains, I'd publish on Fridays to make them reading for the weekend, when a lot of other internet stuff goes quiet. I'll try to remember that.

I saved this until a quiet moment and am soooooo glad. One can only hope you don't decide to charge for this because now I'd probably have to find a way to pay, no matter what. Sir, this is quite tantilizing! It is much much better than Buck Rogers or The Claw and it has nuance beyond any reasonable expectation and left me wanting more!

Thank You

No, no intention to charge. That's the mechanism for creating a motive to keep visiting on a regular basis.

I suppose the forums do that for some who want to chit-chat, but the forums were never intended to be the major part of the website. Instead, it was intended to be more educational.

The stories are educational (or will be...when the story line gets a little deeper). People can talk about ideas as boring abstractions, or, they can create context around them to make them more interesting, engaging, and meaningful.

Ironically, if read carefully, the Homeworld series has some advice just as good as what I'm going to charge money for.  :happy112:

I put episode 4 up earlier today.

The episodes start short but get longer. I could probably consolidate some of the early ones to make them longer, but never bothered to do so. Maybe I should post 5 too since 4 and 5 are short. Watch for 5 some time this weekend.

I won't post a link, because it comes with a warning. This one contains "mature innuendo".

For some reason most people never read them in order, which is weird because they are chapters in a serial, and the story builds up over time. Jumping right in the middle doesn't make any sense. Do people read books like that? Jump ahead to the ending, and then jump around to see what happened along the way? Maybe. Anyway, despite the warning, this was by far the most-read chapter despite not even being all that "hot". I just make sure people are warned so I don't get in trouble.

Can you work in a hockey mask and a chainsaw into the plot in a later chapter just for me? Thanks. :happy005:

Since it is an "alternative world", you can't have hockey masks. Not sure about chainsaws; the local flora is supposed to be somewhat differently architected (and overall shorter than ours--arctic winters alternate with the tropical summers, and the topography is rocky and precipitous).

Although I do intentionally work in anomalies, like stating that certain blossoms "smell like Chinese Cymbidiums" on a world where Chinese Cymbidiums don't exist.  :laughing002:

I have a counter-proposal. Work out the rules of a ritual combat game (in a world that is simultaneously pretentiously quasi-pacifistic and massively hypocritical) and a tool that could be horribly misused, and I'll work them into a deadly confrontation scene. Actually, I need a ritual combat game anyway, because I've already mentioned one, without any details.

Can you work in a hockey mask and a chainsaw into the plot in a later chapter just for me? Thanks. :happy005:
