Partially true, but I think that instead of draining the banking system, you can cause hyperinflation by accelerating monetary velocity.
What if instead of withdrawing all our money from the bank, we spent it? We could spend it on food, pay down debt, buy precious metals, and take some out as cash.
That would not drain the banking system, but it would accelerate monetary velocity and make the remaining money in the system worthless.
I am pretty sure that the banking crisis is intentional. The goal is to consolidate the banking industry to a few nation-wide banks.
