Thanks. We're keeping an eye on things. Not much else we can do. My big son was really upset when he heard about the accident. Grilled me about the condition of his sister. Wanted to know why they can't do an MRI RIGHT NOW. We said that to do an emergency MRI we had to have some evidence that something is wrong. She looks OK. He said 'WELL WHAT IF SHE DIES IN HER SLEEP?!' He's really upset.
I'm upset too. And my head hurts.
The police matched the car license to my description of the vehicle. So, they have the ability to track down the perpetrator. No idea if they will. I would guess, though, that it's worth at least a phone call and some questions. If my guess is correct (young people don't buy Volvos), then Daddy is going to find out what pumpkin did. And so will Daddy's insurance company.
Hope highway patrol gets the, well, I'll stay ladylike here.
I feel bad about this too. Two very attractive young ladies, and a nice car (well, it was nice before she bent the hood) that I bet belongs to Dad. I saw the range of emotions in their faces (particularly the driver's): first nervous, inappropriate laughter, then something like panic, then a look of excited determination to get away.
Nothing that looked like concern for us, or actual remorse.
A lot of young people are very self-centered. Very little sense of respect or concern for others.
That broke my heart. I know that thank goodness not all young people are like that, but I see it a lot. Bratty, self-centered, irresponsible behavior.
